The type of architect desired by Hampton Bays residents is apparently a “small-town” feel, according to 1,200 survey respondents. Other features hoped for include large sidewalks for pedestrians and a vibrant color scheme.

27east reported that the survey results were revealed on January 25 and that the boundaries for the Hampton Bays overlay district are Good Ground Road in the south, Good Ground Park in the north, and Springville Road to Ponquogue Avenue on the west and east.

Some of the responses to the survey included disinterest in the addition of more housing as well as hope for larger retailers.

The plans for the project are expected to finalize by April. Afterwards, the proposed overlay district will go through an environmental review.
