First up, take a trip over to Caci in Southold this Sunday, October 2. They are hosting an evening of wine tasting with Pio Cesare winery, well known the Piemonte region of Italy. Cesare Benvenuto, owner and assistant winemaker, will be coming to Caci for this event; see the menu below. RSVP here.

Going to Guild Hall’s JDT Lab shows tonight or next Tuesday? Have dinner first across the street. The 1770 House is offering a $27 two-course pre-theatre prix fixe dinner. It begins at 5:30; orders should be into the kitchen by 6:30PM, to be in time for the 7:30PM curtain. Choose a starter and main or main and dessert. Autumn dishes by Chef Rozzi may include his unique presentations of peach, fennel and baby Chiogga beet salad; chilled ‘Jersey Red’ tomato soup with house-smoked local tuna salad; halibut with heirloom cherry tomatoes and sweet corn crudo; striped bass with heirloom tomato jam and purslane; and fettuccine with house-made local rabbit sausage.

Have you missed Almond’s Artists & Writers Nights? Next Tuesday, October 4, is the first in the new series. The evening will feature a family style three-course menu created by executive chef Jason Weiner. Cost is $45, which includes a glass of local wine or craft beer and gratuity, but not tax.
