We recently told you that the folks behind Dopo La Spiaggia in Sag Harbor have major expansion plans. They are set to take over Race Lane in East Hampton in October 2016. With more than 3,000 square feet, the latest restaurant will feature new specialty dishes that are already playing well in Sag Harbor. Here are some of our favorites from chef Maurizio Marfoglia on the current menu: Cavolini (shaved Brussels sprout Caesar with toasted pine nuts), Crudo (fresh-off-the-boat scallop with caviar, sea beans and lemon), Tagliolini (Bay scallops, shrimp, calamari, imported Calabrian chilies and tomato), and Ippoglossio (pan-seared halibut, faro, purple kale and chanterelle mushrooms).
We contacted Dopo La Spiaggia co-owner Maria Baum for a comment on the new endeavor, and here’s what she told us, "Great food is arguably the most important aspect of the experience of dining out, but it's not the only one. The same goes for the walls. To me what truly sets a restaurant apart is it's heart and soul... The staff and the patrons. We have this magical combo just right in Sag Harbor. We plan to bring that same special feeling to East Hampton."
Additionally, the new eatery accepts same day reservations. We just love it when we can make plans ahead of time!
