Here’s an interesting looking lecture sponsored by the Southampton Historical Museum. Next Thursday, August 18, catch "Clubs and Hotels of the Hamptons - The Prelude to the Summer Colony" by Anne Surchin, the distinguished architect, historian and writer.
Before they built their own vacation homes, summer visitors to the Hamptons could choose from a variety of hotels and clubs ready to welcome them. Ms. Surchin will discuss this early period of Hamptons history and the leisure activities that drew the first vacationers to what would become one of America’s great resort destinations.
The lecture is $95 for members, $120 non-members, and is at 5:30 at the Rogers Mansion. RSVP to 631-283-2494.
