Let’s Tour the 2016 Hampton Designer Showhouse

Fabulous as always

This year's Hampton Designer Showhouse is up past horse country into the peaceful woods of Noyac. A simple white-painted double gambrel, the house is spacious at 10,200 square feet, with a finished lower level, but doesn’t feel cavernous. It feels welcoming. Set on 3.0 acres, of course the property boasts a gorgeous pool out back as well as a tennis court. Asking price is $5.195M. There are eight bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms, including an outrageous master bathroom (which we didn’t photograph as it wasn’t quite finished). Ditto on the kitchen, which is by Bakes and Kropp.

But enough about the house—what about the designer decoration? Colors seemed more muted and pale this year, except for the fantastic master sitting room by Dyfari Interiors.

We loved the use of fresh brass tones in the elegant dining room by Mendelson Group. The junior master by Mabley Handler Interior Design is also pale and relaxing with a simple four poster. The upstairs master, by Elsa R. Soyars Interiors, is frankly lush, sexy, and inviting. The game room, by Barbara Page Home, sports a fabulous Game of Thrones theme. Notice the crown? The room we most want to hang out in, though, is the wine lounge by Wolf Interior Designs. Ranelle Wolf told us, "The objective was to give it heart and purpose—creating intimacy and making it a destination. It can accommodate a lady with her feet up reading, a couple in conversation, or a group of friends around the bar." Maspeth Welding custom made the beautiful circular bar and barstools.

But don’t just take our word for it: go and see the showhouse in person. Admission is $35, which includes a journal, and it benefits Southampton Hospital.
