Even the most sophisticated of elegant society beauties needs a little adjustment now and then: yes, we mean that two lovely Southampton properties have had their prices cut drastically.
Twin Peaks, the enormous new-build in Olde Towne, debuted on the market a year ago for $45M. Friends of ours who’ve toured the property say it’s jaw-dropping. It’s also price-dropping; ask is now $39.5M. Will that be enough?Initially we wanted to scoff at the place, but there are just so many fabulous amenities included, we couldn’t. These include a sunken turf tennis court with pavilion, an enormous gunite pool with negative edge on one side and lounges on a beach entry side (with a pool house of course), roof deck with putting green, outdoor kitchen with firepit, and the piece de resistance for the connoisseur in the lower level. Your own bowling alley! (Plus you can rub it in Joe Farrell's face that you have a private bowling alley in the Hamptons, too.) Also in the lower level is a bar and billiards table, as well as a wine cellar. The home theater sports comfy chaise longues and a fun sparkly ceiling.
It was being offered for salewith an empty lot next door, comprising 3.1 acres in Southampton's estate section. Ask was $18M; now it’s $15.5M. The 3240 square foot house is bursting with period charm (fir floors, fireplaces, French doors). There are lovely old trees and mature gardens surrounding it, along with a pool, tennis court, pool house, and three-car garage. We still hope the house doesn’t have a date with a bulldozer.
