Our buddies over at Eater just broke the news that chef Todd Jacobs is leaving his farm to table restaurant in Bridgehampton, Fresh. He’s moving over to Redbar in Southampton, and this strikes us as a bit of an unusual move. The last time we chatted with Jacobs, he was bursting with ideas for his eatery. But, we move on. So, what to do with that gorgeous barn inspired space at 203 Sag Harbor Turnpike? You didn’t really think it would sit empty, did you?
Enter the owners of Almond in Bridgehampton, Eric Lemonides and chef Jason Weiner. They’ve snatched it up, and they have big plans for the location. Lemonides said, "It will be a late night bar with a pool table and a limited menu of Mediterranean small plates." Weiner further said, "The girls at Amber Waves Farms in Amagansett will be curating and growing the garden for us.'' Falling in line with their other restaurant in the Hamptons, the duo’s newest venture will be called Zigmund's, after Jason's wife, Almond Zigmund.
