Buy a piece of history at 14 Halsey Avenue

The governor’s estate

Due to some strongly worded comments in previous posts, we are aware that Westhampton Beach isn’t exactly catnip to our readership. However, we discovered a pretty cool property at 14 Halsey Avenue in (brace yourself) Westhampton Beach that is set to hit the auction block on July 16, 2016.

Originally built for New York Governor and presidential candidate Alfred E. Smith, this nearly 7,000 square foot property isn’t lacking in size. Sporting interesting architectural details (hello, gorgeous ceilings), an impressive kitchen, and a stunning pool, the house is certainly a breath of fresh air. Previously listed for $3.875 million, Concierge Auctions in cooperation with Larry Citarelli of First Hampton International Realty will soon discover how much the market is willing to pay. So what do we think, could the location provide a respite from the hectic pace of life in the Hamptons and command a high price tag? We’d love to know your thoughts.
