On Friday, the corporation run by Cyril Fitzsimons, who runs the eponymous Cyril’s Fish House in Napeague, was found guilty of 45 misdemeanors stemming from illegal expansion of the restaurant. What does this mean for the restaurant? He might lose his liquor license. Just one conviction of operating without a certificate of occupancy could cause the New York State Liquor Authority to reconsider the temp license issued to Cyril’s company this year, and the company was found guilty of 12 counts of lacking a C of O. Of course, Mr. Fitzsimons will appeal.

Earlier last week, the actual owners of the land Cyril’s operates on settled with East Hampton, and structures deemed illegal expansion will be removed, including the bar that faces Montauk Highway and a brick patio between the restaurant and the roadway.

Rumors are flying fast and furious that Gabby Karan will be opening an outpost of Tutto il Giornio in the former Dave’s spot on West Lake Drive. (Dave’s is moving across Lake Montauk to the former Fishbar space.)

Also, we hear that a new outpost of Goldberg’s will be opening in the Montauk Harbor area. Ours is an everything with vegetable cream cheese, please.

As always, if you have any intel, drop us a line.
