Two beauty/fashion updates for Memorial Day weekend. Cayli Cavaco Reck, most recently known for her Knocking On Forty Instagram, is opening a popup in Bridgehampton, which will carry indie beauty brands such as Lake & Skye, Sunday Riley and Tenoverten. Quoted in WWD, Ms. Reck says, "I want to be pretty and groomed — and all things all women want to be—but I still wanted to be myself. I’m 39—and oh my gosh, I’m finally comfortable in my skin and I’m happy to be me, but my face is going." (We feel ya, sister.) In the back will be a treatment room for eyebrows and facials. The shop opens tomorrow, then will be open next weekend and then daily from June 11 to Labor Day.
Jenny Cabido opened RM 09 at the popular Haven Montauk hotel last season. The specialty boutique is showcased in a reconfigured guest room at the property. This summer, Cabido plans an even more extensive selection of clothing and beach accessories for women and kids, and practically all of it is ethically sourced. For example, a brands like Indigo Africa pools 100% of their profits for job skills training and literacy classes. , a kids’ collection from Bali, is completely handmade by local mothers earning a fair wage. This Saturday from 12-6, preview the collections with a glass of rosé.
