EaterHampton Update: Arbor Montauk, Pierre Buys Sagg Store, and More

"For the wine and beer lover"

It’s almost spring, and we know what that means: time to start getting new restaurants ready to open! First up: Montauk’s Ciao by the Beach, the subject of many noise complaints last summer, is turning into a restaurant called Arbor, which is scheduled to open May 1. It’s owned by private equity mogul Marc Rowan, who also purchased Duryea’s Lobster Deck in 2014. The restaurant, located at at 240 Fort Pond Road, will, according to management, "create a new feel and concept, unique to Montauk. Arbor was crafted for the wine, beer and food lovers without compromise. Our menu will focus on fresh, local and homemade food. We will offer some 30+ wines & beers by the glass, from all around the world." Wine and beer? In Montauk?

Next: Pierre Weber of Pierre’s in Bridgehampton has purchased the Sagg General Store. Croque Monsieur ou Croque Madame sur la plage!

Finally, the late unlamented 1 OAK club, at 125 Tuckahoe Lane in Southampton, is dunzo. It’s now called the Galleria.
