EaterHampton: Mexican in Southampton, Doppio Dunzo, Coffee in Sag

And fishburgers in the city

Time for the latest news on Hamptons restaurants! As always, if you have a tip, please drop us a line. First up, friend of the blog Hamptons Chatter reports a rumor that a "high end Mexican restaurant" will be moving into the space currently occupied by the Southampton Publick House (which is itself moving, not closing, don’t panic, brew-lovers). ¡Más pollo en achiote, por favor!

Hamptons Chatter also reports that Doppio is definitely closed forever (we’d reported back in January that it was likely not to re-open). Ciao! Supposedly the space will be renovated before being transformed into something new, as it’s tired.

The Hampton Bee reports that Jack’s Stir Brew will be opening in Sag Harbor, in the former Juicy Naam space at 51 Division Street. The newest Jack’s will be opening hopefully in May.

The East Hampton space where Winston’s and Nichol’s was located is also being prepped for a new restaurant. We’re sworn to secrecy for now, but will bring you the details as soon as we’re able.

Still in NYC for the present? Get a taste of the Hamptons Monday on Broome Street, where Seamore’s weekly dinner series, Montauk Mondays, features Dock to Dish fishburgers designed by Eric Ripert. The sandwich is served on a brioche bun topped with fennel, roasted tomatoes, and aioli. Pair it with Montauk Brewing Company Driftwood Ale, of course.
