Get your minuet shoes on, folks, because it's time to celebrate Southampton's 275th anniversary! That's right—back in 1915, Southampton put on a gala event to celebrate its founding, and British Pathé was there to capture all the hot Grecian maiden dancing. In addition to the opening number, "Dance of the Woods and the Waters," there was a reenactment of a Native American raid on the community, complete with stocks and (we think) some simulated whipping, and of course a reenactment of the landing at Conscience Point. It all happened June 12, 1915, and we wish we'd been able to attend.
