From the Facebook photo above, looks like the East Hampton outpost of Sag Harbor’s Dopo la Spiaggia is going to open any day now. As you probably remember, it’s taking over the old Race Lane space. (And Race Lane is rumored to be opening in Sag Harbor, though no further news there.) Good news for lovers of Italian.
Shelter Island’s beloved Vine Street Cafe is also going to open an outpost in East Hampton, in the former Cafe Max spot. Opening is planned for April.
Vine Street sent email stating, “For those who would like a sneak peek, we are hosting a casual family style 5 course dinner featuring dishes from our new restaurant's menu.” Here’s that menu, so this is the kind of thing to expect from the new place.
A variety of cracker thin wood grilled pizzas: Tarte Flambe, Dnuja and mozzarella, crushed avocado, lobster sausage
French feta and arugula salad with dried heirloom tomato and olive dressing
Coquille Saint-Jacques - Peconic Bay scallop with creamy mushroom gratin
A variety of wild game sliders: venison, wild boar, lamb (field harvested in the wild)
House made beignets, served with a blood orange caramel and spiced ganache dipping sauces
