Why not oceanfront for $4.599M in Westhampton Beach?

New, 2 comments

1.1 acres

We keep saying it because it’s true: west of the canal is becoming more and more popular. And why not? Traffic is less of a nightmare, and it’s much easier to get to from the Big Smoke. Furthermore, towns like Quogue and Westhampton offer cute, charming shops, restaurants and amenities.

And of course, prices are much more reasonable. You won’t find tiny teardowns on a half-acre asking $10M. Try this property on for size: it’s 1.1 acres of land, including 270 feet of ocean frontage and a waterside gunite pool, and it’s asking $4.599M, which is about $10M less than the Bridgehampton property is going to cost in the end.

True, the 4248 square foot house is a little McMansiony for our tastes, but redecorating and replacing that Palladian window will fix that. There are four bedrooms and 3.5 baths. The double-sided fieldstone fireplace in the great room is a very nice touch; there’s also a fireplace in the master. There are plenty of eating and sitting spaces, along with decks and terraces to enjoy the view, and of course, your own private path to your own private oceanfront beach. Fab.
