Perennial also-ran Southampton still boasts some of the Hamptons' priciest real estate. However, John McEnroe was forced to cut the price of his Squabble Lane home by $2M as it didn’t sell. George Stephanopoulos also put his Southampton home on the market, and it didn’t sell either. Donald Trump fundraised over the summer at the home of Wilbur Ross who he has chosen to be Commerce Secretary. Pyrrhus Concer’s historic home will be reconstructed as a museum. Southampton Town is buying the Beach Plum Meadows property for $14M. And of course many new restaurants opened this summer; the most popular being Jue Lan Club. Will this town powerhouse finally take home a Cup?

Water Mill has had a lot of attention recently. Bistro Ete was a summer popup in the former Robert’s space (and is close to finding a permanent home). Manna opened in the former Mirko's spot after Via del Mare closed after one week. The Greenwich opened in the former Red Stixs spot, then closed at the end of the summer. Permanently on the market giant overpriced estates Island in the Sky and Villa Maria failed to sell once again. And finally, our long national nightmare was over: Matt Lauer finally won the right to plant shrubs on his Water Mill horse farm.
