A pleasant property by Hook Pond is cut $1M

New, 2 comments

1.6 acres

This property was first listed in April, asking $6.95M. On the face of it, that’s a fairly reasonable ask; the property isn’t waterfront but it’s close to the beach and Hook Pond. Location is good. Now, the property has been chopped $1M down to $5.95M.

Everything about the house and land is nice enough, but for $6M, “nice enough” doesn’t cut it. There has to be something to fall in love with, and we think a big part of the problem is the extremely indifferent interior design.

The bedrooms etc are fine, but the living areas are just meh at best, and the kitchen is unfashionable. We say: get a good interior designer in to make the spaces zing and paint those cabinets white and you’ll get a sale, owners.

The house is 4700 square feet, built in 1999 and renovated in 2014. There are six bedrooms and 5.5 baths. And of course there’s a gunite pool. (Maybe add a pool house.) Guess we’ll see what happens.
