Here’s where to eat during HIFF

You’ll work up an appetite

One of the most fun parts of the year here in the Hamptons is dashing between screenings at the Hamptons International Film Festival. But that’s going to get you hungry! For better food than theater hot dogs, make sure to visit a local eatery. Here are some great choices.

In Amagansett, sit outside on the patio and enjoy the beautiful fall weather at Sotto Sopra. We particularly love the pizza made in a woodburning oven, but there’s also great salads, pasta, and steakhouse favorites on offer.

Perennially popular Rowdy Hall offers a casual pub/tavern style dining steps from the East Hampton movie theater, and no reservations are needed. Open for lunch and dinner, Rowdy is offering a "shorts" menu: quick items you eat in between films. The restaurant also hosts Rowdy Talks each morning of the festival, free of charge.

Want to spot a movie star in town? Head over to Nick & Toni’s, which is of course one of the top restaurants in the Hamptons. Nick & Toni’s is known for their woodburning oven with farm to table fare straight from the garden behind the restaurant.

Nearby is Fresno, just on the outskirts of the village, offering New American fare. There’s a relaxing atmosphere at Fresno with a great wine selection and a creative menu.

Want a casual spot with great food? Bostwick’s is known for unbelievable seafood for lunch or dinner. Grab lobster, fish tacos, lobster rolls, fried clams, crabcakes and more.

A new favorite is the Service Station, with fab food (we love the stuffed meatballs), reasonable prices and cute decor, for both lunch and dinner.

Of course there are some choices if you’re catching a screening in Southampton. Within walking distance to the Southampton movie theater is Little Red, a French bistro inspired spot that serves lunch and dinner. Its big brother is RedBar, a brasserie known for great food; it’s just on the outskirts of the village.

Finally, you can’t go wrong with the good old Southampton Publick House, a casual microbrewery restaurant steps from the Southampton movie theater. Grab delicious fare and housemade brews for both lunch and dinner.
