Here are the modern cottages to be built by Fort Pond Bay, Montauk

On Friday, we wrote about Marc Rowan’s (billionaire owner of Duryea’s) intentions to raze four dilapidated c. 1960 cottages on Firestone Road in Montauk. The houses, built in 1960, are a petite 400 square feet each, but they boast the incredible sunset views that the Montauket is known for.

The new units, to be designed by Stelle Lomont Rouhani Architects, will be flat roofed, glass and steel, and much larger. Two of the new units would be 803 square feet on the first floor, 396 on the second, and 627-square-foot roof decks, with 580-square-foot pool patios. The third would be a 600-square-foot one-bedroom cottage with a 688-square-foot roof deck, and an 850-square-foot pool patio. There would also be a staircase to the water, as the structures are raised on a bluff.

Here’s the site plan, and after that, renderings for the new homes. These are going to look amazing once built.
