The brokerbabble for this house calls it a "midcentury masterpiece." Well, we wouldn't go that far, but it is interesting. It was designed by Robert F. Lewis, a student of Frank Lloyd Wright, about whom we can find no information whatsoever. The four-bedroom, three bath house isn't huge at 2600sf, but we like its long horizontal lines, tons of cool knotty pine, and period built-ins. This listing includes 0.40 acre of land that goes with the house (which includes a saline, solar-heated pool) and a half-acre empty lot next door; clearly indicating that the house could be torn down for a new huge McMansion. It might not be a masterpiece, but we think it would be a shame to bulldoze it. The $3M asking price seems ambitious; the property offers great views but isn't bayfront.
