Here's a new build that's traditional yet non-generic. We like the use of Chinese Chippendale-style porch railings and pool fencing, which is echoed in the breakfast room chairs. This house was built by John Rives Development and designed by Guillaume Gentet. The kitchen strikes us very retro-70s, a bold choice, but we like it. There are also interesting choices in the 5.5 baths, including mother-of-pearl tiles, patterned floor tiles, and striped patterns. The house is 4000sf; we wonder if the relatively skimpy number of bedrooms will hold the property back, although each bedroom is a good size, with an en-suite and its own private balcony. The plot size is also smallish at a half acre, but does back onto reserve for a nice view. North of the highway, the property's asking price is $3.15M, which is reasonable; other area new-builds are similarly priced.
