This is "BlackBarn 2," which is the second in a set of black-painted houses by designer Mark Zeff. The listing says they're "inspired by the barns and farmhouses of the East End, with a bespoke modern sensibility that seamlessly integrates into the canvas of the land." Maybe it's the crummy lighting on the listing photos, but we find this place underwhelming, as much as we want to like it. They're aiming for an eclectic look, but it all seems like a thrown together mishmash to us, and the "black barn" looks like a suburban two-garage cape painted black. There is a lot of space: 8000sf with six bedrooms, six full baths and two halfs; the master seems to take up an entire floor with an open-plan bathroom. The plot is a generous 2.4 acres and there is or will be a gunite pool, spa, and poolhouse with kitchen. Asking price for all this is an ambitious $3.995M.
