This 12,000 sq. ft. mansion in Southampton hit the market with an ask of $37.5M. The history of this place is interesting, as it's one of the original "summer cottages". Let's be honest, this price tag isn't exactly cheap, but in the world of the Hamptons Curbediverse, it's not shocking. Set on 4.6 acres, this 11 bed 12 bath with 3 half baths estate has a lot going for it. And, for the cheetah-loving buyer (at least, we think that's a cheetah), this house is surely a temptress. Over height ceilings and distinctive architecture define a space that is steeped in history. It would be pretty cool to say that your new residence was previously owned by the nephew of industrialist Andrew Carnegie. Talk about cocktail party gold.
We're drooling over the converted stables and heated gunite pool. Plus, who doesn't want a walk-in wine cellar and screening room that accommodates 20 guests? But, we still think the place requires a very specific buyer that eschews modern style in favor safari themes and bold prints. Will this house find a new owner at this price point? Or, does it have a date with the Price Chopper? Please let us know what you think!
