Bill Hader Makes Grey Gardens Docu-Comedy

New, 7 comments

SNL alums Bill Hader and Fred Armisen are going grey in the Hamptons. The funnymen are starring in a rather cheeky 6-episode series on the IFC's docu-comedy Documentary Now! Dame Helen Mirren hosts the project, which features Hader and Armisen running around in women's clothing while acquiring countless cats. Ultimately, the real story highlights a lost fortune, controlling relatives, and dissension into hoarding. Easily one of the most notorious stories to come out of the Hamptons, the fixation with 'Big Edie' and her bizarre and overly complicated relationship with her daughter 'Little Edie', doesn't seem to be losing any traction. Perhaps it's the family connection to the former First Lady Jackie O. that's the big draw of this weird-but-true tale. However, we think it's the fabled seaside home, Grey Gardens, that continues to attract the eye of Hollywood. Either way, it's clear that the public's obsession isn't fading anytime soon. For our part, we can't wait to see Bill Hader wrapped up in fur while arguing with sandwich thieving squirrels.
