How Much for Carl Fisher's Own Montauk House?

New, 13 comments

PriceSpotter is Curbed's price guessing game. We provide some details and pictures from a local listing, and you take a crack at the price. Thursday, we reveal the answer. No cheating!

What/Where: 6 bedrooms, 6.5 baths/Montauk
Square Feet: 8000
Acreage: 7.6 acres
The Skinny: Carl Fisher, the man who tried to turn Montauk into the Miami Beach of the north in the 1920s, chose the hilltop setting of this property for his own house. Interesting that most of the things he built in Montauk were in the Tudor style, but not his own place. We think the best descriptor for the house is "baronial," with tons of exposed wood, Montauk stone fireplaces, and generously sized bedrooms. There's even a separate five bedroom guest house. The property offers views to Lake Montauk and Fort Pond Bay but is not waterfront.

So...how much do you think they're asking for it?
