Panoramic View Bidding is Extended, But You'll Need Deep Pockets to Buy

New, 9 comments

The federal government, which seized the beautiful Panoramic View resort in Montauk after its owners were convicted of running a Ponzi scheme, has extended the deadline for bidding for the property. If you're interested, you now have until Wednesday, August 12 to make an offer. (For more information, email USANYE-Panoramic@usdoj.gov.) We have it on good word, however, that an offer of $54.1M has already been refused by the government; hard to say what the property is worth now but $60M is probably the low end, given the ten acres of oceanfront land. Gossip is that NYC developer/real estate investor Lloyd Goldman is planning to outbid everyone else.
