There's just something about an interior designed by Steven Gambrel: always in discreet, excellent taste yet not at all boring, and his touch is evident in this 10,200sf bayfront gambrel. (Yes, a gambrel by Gambrel.) Except for—wait-- is the new owner required to keep the portrait of listing agent Gary DePersia over the mantels? We like Gary, but we're not sure we like him that much. Anyhow, particularly nice is the wine room (we call that "every room" in our house), the master suite, the artist's studio (also would be great for messy kids' crafts), the dining pergola, rustic firepit, and a small private dock. The sunken tennis court has its own pavilion with gym and the pool house offers a sweet little cupola and roof deck. In all, there are eight bedrooms, 8.5 baths in 2.7 acres. Price is somewhat reasonable: if you hit Powerball tomorrow we'd advise you to try to get a couple million sliced off, but it's a decent starting point. A comp is 86 Bay Lane, asking $30M, with a smaller house, more land, but not as many nice features.
