Yesterday, in the comments of a post about a Montauk motel, the question arose about what constitutes a "local." One person opined that "Born and raised is a local." "Moving here and buying a home=newcomer. Always." What about people who are born and raised in the area and choose to move away? Are they still locals? How long do you have to live in an area before you get classed as a local? Never? If you own a home here but spend most of your time in the city, are you a local? Vote below and let us know your opinion in the comments.
