The long-aborning proposal for a King Kullen development in Tuckahoe is back on the table. The plan calls for seven acres south of CR-39 to be turned into a 40,000sf supermarket, 15,000sf of small retail storefronts, a bank building and 200 parking spaces. Supporters say that an affordable, close-by supermarket would be very helpful for area residents, while detractors point out that CR-39 traffic is already terrible and that changing the zoning could lead to a domino effect, with other businesses seeking to change zoning.
