The 2015 SUMMER RENTAL ROUNDUP: Montauk Edition

Hamptons rentals run the gamut from modest to superlative, from reasonably priced to Holy Crap! Curbed bring you three rentals per destination in various prices as we head east. Today we look at homes in the funky burg of Montauk.

Modest
140 Navy Road, Montauk; T&C
Price: $60,000 (MD-LD)
The Lowdown: Why not spend the summer overlooking Fort Pond Bay, which you can do from the expansive deck of this house. This vintage ranch offers four bedrooms and two baths in 2000sf, set on 1.2 acres of peace and quiet.

Nice
296 West Lake Drive, Montauk; Saunders
Price: $95,000 (MD-LD)
The Lowdown: Want big waterviews for under $100K for the summer? Consider this property. Granted, the interiors are dated, and there isn't a pool. But there is one acre right on Lake Montauk and great views from the expansive deck. The house is easy to live in, all on one level, with plenty of windows to watch the boats go by.

Holy Crap!
234 Old Montauk Highway, Montauk; Saunders
Price: $465,000 (MD-LD)
The Lowdown: If you recall, this gorgeous modern house was purchased by Michael "Big Hirt" Hirtenstein at a steep discount ($13M, down from initial ask of $35M) just two years ago. The sellers were victims of Madoff. Oceanfront, the spacious 5000sf abode is set on four acres of land, which is high above the sea for the best view. Of course there's a pool.
