North Haven Estate with a Grotto and a $16M Pricechop

New, 3 comments

When this property debuted on the market back in July asking $65M, commenters were incredulous about both the price and the style. "Comically tacky. Even more comically overpriced." "Unbelievably tacky. It would take a lot of money to fix all the wrongs." "The green awning over the front door makes it look like a catering hall where a fight would go down on Real Housewives of New Jersey, and the interiors don't do anything to change that impression...and the price is beyond delusional!" "It manages to be awful and fabulous at the same time. It's obviously beautifully crafted– and yes, you're all jealous of the grotto."

Yep, a grotto, which is only one of the bananas features in this place. Angel View features an indoor pool with grotto and fiber-optic night sky (of course), an onyx master bath, dressing room with full bar, "sunset tower lounge with painted universe ceiling, circular seating, wet bar, and multiple synced television screens," seven antique stone fireplaces, and a home theater with a concession foyer and curtained stage. Outside, there's a 3,000 ton mooring ball that can hold a 140 foot ship; tiered, saltwater gunite pools that waterfalls to streams and ponds with water lilies; and cutting and vegetable gardens. The house is 15,000sf, with six bedroom suites, all with private outdoor access, two kitchens (one eat-in, one pro for chefs) and there's a heated three-car garage and caretaker's apartment. There are six acres of land right on Noyac Bay, with plans for a stairway down to the bay beach.
