Yesterday, most of the commercial strip in the Fire Island Pines sold for $10.1M at auction, way below the $17M the previous owners paid for it. The new owner is Ian Reisner, who also owns the Out NYC, a Manhattan hotel. Mr. Reisner plans to invest $4M to "renovate and rejuvenate" the property. [NYT]
