Reservation site OpenTable has launched a new blog, Open for Business, targeted to restaurant owners. Featuring "tips, tricks and fresh ideas from top restaurateurs, editors and experts," there's aleady valuable content for anyone who's interested in dining out, even if you don't happen to run an eatery. For example, in an interview, Ruth Reichl talks about her restaurant pet peeves—such as waiters who introduce themselves by name—and how important the first contact a customer has with an establishment, whether on the phone or via a website.
