Gorgeous Ten-Acre Atterbury Estate Finally Sells

New, 16 comments

This is one of the most confusing listings ever. Back in January, the price was slashed from the original $13.9M down to $7.9M; according to HREO, the property sold and closed at $9M. The confusion all comes from the fact that the property has three addresses, on Southway Drive, Westway, and Montauk Highway, and none of them on Property Shark are showing a sale. We are pretty sure it's the same house we posted about two years ago that used to have a motel on the property.

So for the sake of sanity, we're going to assume that this lovely estate sold. It's an old-school 8000sf Hamptons summer house designed more than a hundred years ago by Grosvenor Atterbury. One of the best things about the property is the site: almost ten acres on one of the highest points in Southampton Town, which makes for spectacular panoramic views. The pool and patio overlook the water. The house was completely renovated and brought to modern standards in 2000. Congrats to the new owners, whoever they are.
