A VIP crowd (and also us) enjoyed the beautiful weather on Saturday afternoon at photographer Cindy Sherman's waterfront estate in Springs. The event, to promote toxin-free lawns in our fragile ecosystem, benefited the Perfect Earth/Azuero Earth Project. Performers included Roger Waters (squee), Laurie Anderson, Suzanne Vega, Rufus Wainwright, Teddy Thompson—son of Richard and Linda Thompson—and the Persuasions.
Celebrity guests included Martha Stewart, Kim Cattrall (who emceed), artist Ross Bleckner, David Salle, designer Nicole Miller, B-52s singer Fred Schneider, and Serena Altschul. There was a wild-animal petting zoo from Quogue Wildlife Rescue, and extremely tasty food from Enterprise Farm and Uma Temakeria, the temaki shop set to open in Chelsea this fall. It was definitely one of the highlights of our summer.
