This house, "Little Close," was built in 1921 for William Jenney by architects Polhemus and Coffin (who also designed Normandy House in Southampton). Located next to the Maidstone Club, the property retains much of its original charm and offers beautiful mature trees and gardens. There is 1.6 acres of land with a 60' pool and pool house with his and hers changing rooms with baths. The house itself is 4875sf, with eight bedrooms and 4.5 baths. The décor is tired, though: the fusty old grandma styling needs updating, the kitchen needs replacing, and those wallpapered ceilings are triggering our claustrophobia. Whoever thought that was a good idea needs a good smacking. All this means $22.5M is too ambitious an asking price, in our opinion; the price is going to have to head south.
