UBERCHEF: 'The Best Saturday Night Ever in the Hamptons'

Last Thursday, we told you about Uber and Kitchensurfing teaming up for one day only. You could book a chef via your Uber app to come to your house and cook and serve a four course meal. One reader wrote us to tell us about their experience.

I decided to try to arrange for the dinner time slots. At 5:00PM I went to my Uber and kept pressing the button for the chef. Each time a text came back: "all nearby CHEF drivers are busy but one should free up soon. Check back in a minute." Well for about 20 minutes I kept checking on and off. Finally a different text was received: "Your Uber kitchen is on its way in 23 minutes." Soon I got a phone call confirming the address and asking how many people we wanted the service for. Six guests @ $35.00/person, which was charged to my Uber account.

In about a half hour three chefs arrived with all the foods needed for our party of six. I was presented with a welcome swag bag filled with sunglasses, t-shirts, cookies, etc--a great way to kick the evening off.

The chefs were pleasant ladies who got right to work using the stove, oven and BBQ grill. Appetizers, main meal and dessert was cooked.......table was set and menu presented.

We were offered no choice on the menu for this special promotion but it was the Latin American foods and everything was delicious.

After dinner the chefs cleaned up and all three refused any tip or even bottles of wine to go home. It was the best Saturday night ever in the Hamptons.

Fantastic! We're so glad, and we'll let Curbed readers know if this opportunity comes up again.
