The Hamptons: beautiful beaches, quaint villages, bucolic farmland, lousy cell reception. In many areas, you're better off tying a string to two cans to communicate, and of course it's worse in the summer. A few weeks ago our pal Patrick Mclaughlin wrote about cell phone reception dead areas in his Hamptons Chatter blog, mapping where Verizon and AT&T seem to go out in the East Hampton area. The latest to join Patrick's bandwagon is Kim Kardashian, who posted yesterday on Instagram, "Bye Hamps!!!! YOUR CELL PHONE RECEPTION SUCKS!!!! Have to go to the city real quick to Instagram!!!" It's 2014, after all—when are local carriers going to improve service?
