Get Wild and Buy Art to Conserve Long Island Wildlife

The Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center does great work rescuing and rehabilitating injured wildlife on the East End. On August 9, the Get Wild benefit will be held at the North Haven home of artists April Gornik and Eric Fischl. Hosted by Isaac Mizrahi, the benefit will honor the Marder family, Jane Gill, and Dr. Jonathan Turetsky and the Veterinary Clinic of East Hampton for their tireless work with animals. The honorary co-chairs of the event are Steve Martin & Anne Stringfield, Sarah Jessica Parker & Matthew Broderick, Carey Lowell, and Hilaria & Alec Baldwin.

Can't make it? A group of acclaimed artists have donated work to the Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center's first art auction. The auction, featuring pieces by such prominent artists as Roy Lichtenstein, Ross Bleckner, Patrick Demarchelier, Arthur Elgort, Eric Fischl, April Gornik, Patrick McMullan, Cindy Sherman, and Bruce Weber can now be viewed on the Paddle 8 website.

Anyone interested in art should take a look—many of these items start at a fraction of their value. At $9,000, the painting by Ross Bleckner would be a steal. Patrick Demarchelier's photo "Lioness, Tanzania" is worth $10,000, but is priced to start at $2,500. Happy bidding and see you at the party.
