Gorgeous Original Devon Colony Home is Yours for $13M

New, 7 comments

This lovely Shingle Style residence is one of the five original houses built in 1910 as the Devon Colony, which was an association formed by wealthy businessmen from Cincinnati. All five of the houses survive, and two are still owned by descendants of the original owners. This one is the smallest of the five, erected by one of the businessmen, Richmond Levering, for his widowed mother, and the only one that's not in an Italian Renaissance style.

The property offers 5.2 acres of land, including a pool, tennis court, and patio with fountain. The 4900sf house house has six bedrooms, three bathrooms, two half baths, and four fireplaces, some with original delft tile surrounds. There's also plenty of original architectural details and plasterwork. Not enough space? There's a two bedroom, one bath guest cottage and a renovated studio for the artistic.
