Underwhelming Lily Pond Lane Oceanfront for $75M

New, 21 comments

If you ask $75M for your property, it had better deliver some jaw-dropping features. This one, not so much. The views are, of course, spectacular. The gardens are lovely on the 1.8 acres of property and there's "the only lighted Har-tru tennis court in East Hampton Village," if you play tennis at night. Between the main house and a three-bedroom, three-bath guest house, there's a curiously small pool and spa. The main house is six bedrooms and eight baths in 5500sf. It's in a contemporary style, with disappointing interiors. While we're at it, why do people not understand that formal furnishings, swagged draperies, and so on simply don't work in a contemporary home? We can't see this place making anywhere near the asking price.
