5 Things to do in the Vineyard (Besides Drink Wine!)

New, 5 comments

We love our vino, but sometimes it's fun to find other things to do in the vineyard. Wineries on the north fork and south fork are going out of their to way to plan some pretty cool events this summer. Take a peek at what you can do beyond the vines…

Winery: Sparkling Pointe
Location: 39750 Country Road 48, Southold, NY
Beyond the vino: This dreamy vineyard has a magical quality- it's kind of like a movie montage where everything looks perfect. Yes, yes, they produce awesome bubbles, but we think hearing a live bossa nova band sounds like a fun way to spend the afternoon. Just remember to bring your dancing shoes!

Winery: Wolffer Estate
Location: 139 Sagg Road, Sagaponack, NY
Beyond the vino: Wolffer is one of the most beloved wineries in the region. They're always hosting a fabulous party filled with beautiful people or a playing jazz for the locals. Our suggestion, get to know this place even better and show up for morning yoga. Striking a downward dog pose in the vines sounds like fun!

Winery: Harbes Family Farm & Vineyard
Location: 715 Sound Ave Mattituck, NY
Beyond the vino: Harbes has it all! There are barnyard adventures for the little ones along with hay rides, tug-of-war, and a farm stand. Feast on a donut, we hear the apple cider ones are delicious! Okay, there might be a little alcohol involved with the cider- but you're not technically drinking vino. Well, not yet!

Winery: Channing Daughters
Location: 1927 Scuttle Hole Road Bridgehampton, NY
Beyond the vino: Frolic in a sculpture garden! What Channing Daughters lacks in size, it more than makes up for in understated elegance. Wistful and well-appointed, the artistic elements reflect Bridgehampton's quirky, yet charming personality.

Winery: McCall Wines
Location: 1927 Scuttle Hole Road Bridgehampton, NY
Beyond the vino: The website touts that you will encounter foxes, pheasant, dear, hawks, turtles, and wildflowers. Sometimes we want nothing more than to escape the glitzy Hamptons summer scene and commune with nature. When you want to drop the pretense, lose yourself in the countryside at McCall.
