$15M for a Fairly Formal Flying Point Italian Villa

New, 6 comments

The gardens of this c. 1929 house are exemplary—mature trees, flowers, and a lawn rolling gently down to 643 feet of waterfront on Burnett Creek. There's 2.7 acres in all, with a pool and pool house and lovely patios and terraces and a separate guest house. The house is 4500sf with five bedrooms and six baths. Parts of it are lovely and parts of it, like that bathroom, are just plain OTT. We adore the candlelit summer dining room, orangery, the mosaic tile floor in one bathroom, but we don't understand the tiny tub. All in all, we think the price will have to head south before a buyer is found.
