The nautical theme of the new children's wing at the library is completely charming. Between the information desk shaped like a boat, the rug printed with East End landmarks, the ten-foot-tall model Montauk lighthouses, the lights shaped like flying books or sand pails, and the windmill seating area, we could not be more in love with the space. Five hundred people showed up for the ribbon cutting on Saturday, including Alec Baldwin with his wife and child, and everyone—especially the kids—had a great time exploring the new space.
