Remember last year, when hotelier Sean MacPherson of the Crow's Nest purchased what had been the old Montauk Motor Court? The six more bungalows, on 1.7 acres on Lake Montauk, were renamed the David Pharaoh Cottages. Unfortunately, according to the East Hampton Star, he did not get a building permit for renovations, which resulted in a stop-work order from East Hampton Town. Furthermore, he has added a gravel parking lot for overflow from the restaurant, but the property is not used for commercial parking. To resume work, he needs site plan approval from the town planning board, which will not be automatic.
