This house, which is owned by sculptor Owen Morrel and book designer Laurie Jewell, was inspired by Frederick Law Olmsted's Maine house, designed by Shingle Style architect William Ralph Emerson. The house adds contemporary touches like an open floor plan and, of course, is designed to take in the water views. There are five bedrooms and 3.5 baths in the 4500sf house. Outside, there is 363 feet of private soundfront beach, a gunite pool, and 12.7 acres of land. The property also abuts 70 acres of preserved land, so there's plenty of privacy.
