March Means St. Patrick's Day in Montauk

It's March, which means spring on the horizon (please) and time to celebrate Irish heritage in Montauk! Irish heritage in this case is represented by foam shamrocks and shillelaghs, as well as beer (of course) and mugs of hot soup. The 52nd Annual St Patrick's Day Parade will take place on Sunday March 23rd in Montauk, with Paul Monte of Gurney's Inn as grand marshal.

The fun starts at 10AM when the Montauk Chamber of Commerce's soup mugs go on sale. Hot soup donated by Montauk restaurants is served at 11AM. The parade is focusing on family friendly fun. Kids are encouraged to come out, get their green face-paint on, and nab some lucky beads and candy tossed from floats from local businesses and fire trucks. Bagpipe bands from all over Long Island will also march. The parade will run up Edgemere Street, then right on South Edison St and then enters Main Street at the east end of town.
