Beach? Party? Fish? The Hamptons Hotels of Choice

New, 3 comments

You're dying to have a weekend with your girlfriends and hit the wineries of the South Fork. Or you want to spend a weekend fishing with your buddies. Or you're a 24 years old single and partying is on your mind. Here are the hostelries that make each activity easy.

Winery Tours
Topping Rose House
1 Bridgehampton - Sag Harbor Turnpike, Bridgehampton
Topping Rose is about equidistant between Wölffer Estate Vineyards and Channing Daughters Winery; it's farther away from Duck Walk Vineyard but still fairly convenient. It's a gorgeous boutique hotel perfect for relaxing; after a day touring a winery and getting pleasantly squiffy, go to the spa for some pampering, then head to the restaurant for a fabulous meal.

Golf
Inn at Windmill Lane
23 Windmill Lane, Amagansett
There are many private golf courses in the Hamptons, of course. If you're not a member, stay at the luxurious Inn at Windmill Lane; one of the many guest amenities is preferred tee times at Montauk Downs Golf Club. When you're not golfing, play games in the common room, which offers a pool table and dartboard.

Fishing
Harborside Resort Motel
371 West Lake Drive, Montauk
The Harborside is a well-run, simple, clean motel with a pool. It's easy walking distance from the harbor from which the Montauk fishing fleet operates, so you can choose your party or fishing charter for the day.

Chilling on the beach
Panoramic View Resort
272 Old Montauk Highway, Montauk
The views are unbeatable and so are the amenities. There's a heated pool, of course, but there are also pool and beach attendants with towel, chair and umbrella service to cater to your every whim. A concierge is available to call you a taxi or make dinner reservation.

Partying
Montauk Beach House
55 Sout Elmwood Avenue Montauk
The MBH is famous for its party scene and special events are planned for all summer long. A summer concert series brings world-renowned musicians and DJs to "poolside frolics," and beach fashion shows bring serious fun.
