In April, Learn About North Sea's Fascinating History

Did you know that in the 17th century, North Sea Harbor was a seaport that rivaled Boston and Philadelphia? (Inhabitants also apparently enjoyed playing bagpipes on top of a whale.) A lecture April 17 by Tom Edmonds, Executive Director of the Southampton Historical Museum, will present a slide talk on North Sea's history. From the first migratory people who hunted and fished, to the Shinnecocks, to the English settlers, to the summer folks, you'll learn about North Sea's mostly forgotten heritage stretching back 10,000 years.
