Aging East Hampton Village Beauty Seeks New Suitor

New, 10 comments

This stunner, known as the Henry D. Hedges House, is in the Huntting Lane Historical District in the village. Built in 1903, the house retains many of its original features, but a meticulous restoration in 2009 brought the house into the 21st century, adding details like an elevator and new energy-efficient systems. The house is 7000sf, with eight bedrooms, all en-suite; the finished basement includes a media room, a wine cellar, and an exercise room. Outside, on the 0.67 acre of land, there's a pool, carriage house, and a deck. Asking price is $8.5 million; $750K was recently chopped off the price, which still seems high, given that 44 Huntting sold for $8.25 million last autumn with a similar size house but 2.2 acres of land.
